The Ask

We are asked to create a short film about the extraordinary life of Investec's Global CEO Fani Titi. Growing up in extreme poverty, his best childhood prospect was to be a tractor driver on a farm in the Free State of South Africa. Through sheer will and his vast mathematical ability, he ultimately found himself studying at Berkley, California on a full scholarship before journeying on to become one of the elite business leaders within South Africa. The project took us on the road for 2 weeks of filming with Fani in Johannesburg, London and New York to get a glimpse into his modern day life. We also visited key locations from his history including Winterveld in the Fee State and the Berkley campus outside of San Francisco. These stories require sensitivity and respect for our subjects and their lifestyles - an aspect of our work we are most proud of.
